Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument

Tuesday - Friday, January 10-13, 2017:

Back to desert camping at Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument.  I must say, this was of my favorite spots thus far.  I love the desert!  Camping here was just $16/$8 per night (again it pays to get older...for some things).

Organ Pipe Cactus N.M. is located in the Sonora Desert.  This desert is young, only 10,000 years old - of course that's relative in relationship to deserts. It's also called the Green Desert.

The sunrise and sunsets were gorgeous and the hiking and driving tours were a lot of fun.  We learned a great deal about the desert while here.  What really made us happy was that we finally found some warm weather.  We also received a pin for hiking over five miles....

If you ever go to any of the national parks or monuments you should definitely take the time to go some of the Ranger Programs.

Leave Yuma, AZ - 9:48am
Rte: 8E►85S
Gas - Gila Bend (85S) Chevron $2.45/gal
